Abstract The thermal conductivity of a single-phase gehlenite (2CaO Al 2 O 3 SiO ) sample was determined using microscopy. composition the primary crystal region CaO: :Al = 38:28:34 (mass%), which maintained after melting and cooling. After polishing samples, size sufficiently large to be measured microscope. value $$\sqrt{\lambda C\rho }$$ λ C ρ , where λ is C specific heat andρis density, samples every 10 μm obtain its distribution. When comparing results with optical microscopy image sample, showed larger than glassy region. Specifically, 2.2 ± 0.1 kJs −0.5 ·m −2 ·K −1 resulted in 2.1 0.2 Wm .
